  • Know where documents, accounts and policies are kept
  • Clear first steps if your family is dealing with a loss

Why it helps

When you can't just ask, simple questions get hard

Most families aren't missing paperwork. They're missing a map: where things are, who to call and what comes first.

  • “Who do we call first?”

No one should have to unlock your phone to find the right number. A one-page family card names a first contact, a backup, and who needs care right away — children, other dependents or pets.

  • “Which bank was it?”

Your family may know there's a savings account, but not where. List each institution and the last four digits of the account — never full numbers or passwords.

  • “Was there a life insurance policy?”

Policies through an employer are easy to forget. Record each insurer, where the policy is kept and where the beneficiary records are.

  • “Where is the original will?”

“Somewhere in the house” isn't a location. Write down the drawer, the folder or the attorney who holds the original.

  • “Should we cancel the phone?”

Closing an email or phone account too early can make other records harder to reach. Note what exists and what to check before anything is canceled.

  • “What applies in our state?”

Probate and small-estate procedures vary by state. Your edition includes a section for the state you choose, with the official sources to check.

What Legavia is

One organized file for the people you love

Legavia is a family organizer in PDF format. You fill it in at your own pace — on screen or on paper — so important information lives in one place and your family knows where to look.

It doesn't replace a will or an attorney. It helps the people you love find things and know what to ask.

Two ways families use it

Preparing ahead

For yourself, or together with a parent

  • Record contacts, document locations, accounts, insurance, home details and digital life
  • Add personal wishes and a note to your family
  • Tell one trusted person where the organizer is kept, and review it once a year

Each organizer has a “Start here” page. Preparing ahead begins on page 3.

After a loss

For the family handling what comes next

  • Follow a practical sequence for the first steps
  • Keep track of death certificates, notifications, calls and expenses
  • Use the state section to prepare questions for a professional

The “Start here” page shows where to begin: page 11 in Essential, page 30 in Complete.

  • Fill in on screen or by hand

Type into the form fields in a PDF reader that supports forms, or print it on U.S. Letter paper and write.

  • Private by design

It asks for locations and the last four digits only. Passwords, PINs and full Social Security numbers belong somewhere separate and protected.

  • Your state, in the same file

The general organizer and your state section come together in one PDF. No add-ons to buy.

Get your organizer

Choose your plan and state

Each purchase is one PDF: the plan you choose, for the state you choose. The general organizer and your state section come in the same file.

These U.S. state editions are sold in our United States store, in U.S. dollars.

Choose your plan

Which state should I choose? The state where the person this organizer is for lives — usually where their estate would be handled. This is separate from where you're shopping from.

More than one state involved?

Each edition covers one state. If there's property in another state, or someone lived in one state and died in another, start with the state where they lived and ask an attorney about the others. One edition doesn't cover every state's rules — if you need more than one, you can buy each edition separately.

I’ve Finally Stopped Losing Sleep Over It.

Now my son has a clear plan to follow: the pensions I’d almost forgotten about, the insurance policies, and what needs to happen first. One quiet afternoon, and it was done.

FAQ

Questions families ask

Is this a physical book?

No. Legavia is a digital PDF — nothing is shipped. You can fill it in on screen, or print it at home on U.S. Letter paper and write by hand.

What exactly will I receive?

One PDF file: the plan you choose, for the state you choose. For example, Complete + Texas is the Complete organizer, Texas edition — the general organizer and the Texas section are already in the same file.

You won't receive all 51 editions, and you don't need them.

Do I need to buy anything else?

No. Each organizer is self-contained. You don't need another Legavia document or a separate state add-on.

What if it's not right for me?

You're covered by a 30-day satisfaction guarantee. If the organizer isn't what you expected, email us at legavia.es@gmail.com within 30 days of your purchase, from the email address you used for the order, and we'll refund the full amount to your original payment method.

How do I fill it in and print it?
  • Download the PDF and open it in a PDF reader that supports fillable forms (for example, Adobe Acrobat Reader).
  • Save your own copy before typing. Close and reopen it to check that your entries were saved.
  • Form fields have fixed space. If you need more room, the Complete edition includes a continuation sheet.
  • To print, use U.S. Letter paper (8.5 × 11 in). If a margin gets cut off, choose “Actual size” or “Fit.”
What's the difference between Essential and Complete?

Essential (18 pages) covers the key information in a shorter format: a family card, contacts, document locations, a simple map of accounts, insurance and bills, home and digital life, personal wishes, first steps after a death, notifications and tracking — plus your state section.

Complete (53+ pages) goes further, with separate worksheets for each type of account, dependents and pets, will and trust records, property and vehicles, business interests, a family roadmap, a death certificate tracker, call and claim logs, a deadline tracker, a six-month planner and six notification letter templates — plus an expanded state section.

Which state edition should I choose?

Choose the state where the person the organizer is for lives. If you're organizing after a death, that's usually the state where they last lived.

The state edition is separate from where you're shopping from. If property or accounts are in another state, start with the home state and ask an attorney about the rest — one edition doesn't cover every state's rules. If you need more than one state, you can buy each edition separately.

Can one organizer cover my whole household?

Each organizer is designed for one adult. For a couple, the organizer suggests completing one per adult and labeling shared records clearly. You can print extra copies of worksheet pages whenever you need them.

Is this legal advice? Is it a will?

No. Legavia is an organizing tool with general information. It is not a will, trust, power of attorney, advance directive or official court form, and it doesn't provide legal, tax or financial advice. It can't appoint anyone or give anyone access to accounts.

For decisions about your situation, talk to a qualified attorney, tax professional or financial adviser. The organizer helps you bring them the right information.

Is my information safe?

Your organizer stays with you — on your device or on paper. The PDF isn't encrypted, so it asks you to record locations and the last four digits of accounts only, and to keep passwords, PINs and full Social Security numbers somewhere separate and protected.

Where does the state information come from?

Each state section lists the official sources it refers to — such as state statutes, court websites and government agencies — with the date they were checked. Rules change, so always confirm current requirements before acting. These sources don't endorse Legavia.
